The Y3 batch refers to sneakers produced by the Y3 factory, which was once on the verge of closing. In recent years, the factory struggled with inventory clearance and limited production. However, after receiving new funding, Y3 has made a strong return.
The factory has recently acquired original design data and molds from SZ (Nike’s former factory) and factories in Vietnam. With this support, Y3 has begun developing new models of Jordan 1, 3, 4, and 5 — including popular Travis Scott collaborations.
Unlike many factories that reuse molds and materials from others, Y3 has developed its own tools and production processes for these new models.
